Mole & Dark Spot Removal

Growths treated include moles, Dark Spot, seborrhoiec keratoses, senile warts and other raised lesions. At Mermaid Beauty Center we can remove moles from the face, armpits, breasts and neck. The technique we use is particularly useful for facial growths and fleshy growths called dark spot. There is usually minimal scaring and the healing period is short.

How Does It Work?

Mermaid Beauty Center’ innovative approach to mole and dark spot removal utilises spot removal equipment that seals the skin as it cuts away the mole or dark spot from any area of the body. This method of mole and dark spot removal minimises bleeding, leaving a temporary superficial scab which falls off in a short time resulting in a smooth skin surface.

Preparing for your treatment

Before the removal of any raised moles or dark spot, you will be required to have a consultation with our technician before removal. You will need to signed our consent form at your appointment. You are then free to have your mole or dark spot removal treatment as planned. Treatment only available to clients over the ages over 18.

What should I expect after my treatment?

Provided it is left to heal naturally (generally 7 to 10 days), there is rarely any scarring at the treatment site. There may be a slight colour difference in the treated skin (compared to the surrounding skin) but this fades and over time.

How many treatments will I need?

One or Two treatment is sufficient to remove each lesion.

Stimulate Fast Skin Renewal

Micro-Needling is an advanced Skin Needling Treatment used to stimulate fast collagen production and renewal – resulting in smoother and more youthful looking skin. Mermaid Beauty Center’ Micro-Needling is the perfect treatment for treating fine lines and wrinkles, scars, skin texture and an overall rejuvenation of the skin.

How does it work?

Micro-Needling is easily performed using our medical grade Micro-Needling equipment. The Micro-Needling equipment uses a series of microscopic needles that is controlled by a unique motorized head to provide thousands of precision channels into the dermal and epidermal regions of skin. These needles cause multiple, tiny micro-punctures in the dermis. These micro-punctures stimulate growth factors in the skin and the post traumatic response produces collagen and elastin- two of the key building blocks of our skin. As the structure of the skin is largely left intact, the skin heals within 4-7 days post treatment.

Who is it suitable for?

Micro-Needling is suitable for all skin types and for people who want to eliminate and improve the appearance of acne scarring, eliminate visible signs of other scars and rejuvenate your skin.

What should I expect after my treatment?

There is redness and may be mild swelling in the treated skin areas. Depending on the intensity of the treatment you may experience light crusting for the following 7-10 days. Generally, your skin will heal within 3-5 days and you can resume your normal activities. To get the best results it is essential for you to get the after-care products that your therapist recommends.

How many treatments are recommended?

A minimum of 6 treatments are recommended to achieve the best results. The treatments are performed 4 weeks apart.

Acne Scar Treatment

Make Your Skin Look Smooth Again.

Acne does not need to leave a permanent scar or mark on your skin. Mermaid Beauty Center offer a range of very effective and affordable Acne Scar treatments including Fractional Radiofrequency (RF) and Skin Needling. Skin Needling is suitable for all skin types, whereas RF, which is very effective for Caucasian and light olive skins, is not suitable for darker skin types.

Mermaid Beauty Center also offer very effective SPOT Acne Scar treatments. Many clients with Acne Scarring have different types of scars which need a combination of treatment types to achieve the best results. To find out which treatments will be most effective for your scarring please book in for a skin consultation with one of our expert therapists.

How does it work?

Fractional Radiofrequency (RF) and Skin Needling both produce thousands of tiny injuries in the dermal layer of the skin. These tiny dermal injuries stimulate the skin’s healing process, leading to the production of new collagen and gradual filling of the scars. The effectiveness of these treatments is dependent on your skin’s ability to make new collagen, which some skins do better than others. Every skin however, can produce new collagen, so every client who has a series of these treatments, will see a result.

What areas of the skin can be treated?

RF and Skin Needling can treat any skin affected by Acne Scarring.

What should I expect after my treatment?

The skin is red and swollen for one to two days with a light grazing over the treated area appearing on day two. Most clients are able to return to work and normal activities within 48 hours of treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Multiple treatments are usually necessary to achieve significant improvement in the appearance and depth of lines and scars. Treatment effects are cumulative and will usually be seen within 6-8 weeks.

Discoloration Treatment

Discoloration Treatment
Melasma is a chronic skin disorder that results in symmetrical, blotchy, brownish facial pigmentation. It can lead to considerable embarrassment and distress.

The cause of melasma is complex. The pigmentation is due to overproduction of melanin by the pigment cells, melanocytes, which is taken up by the keratinocytes (epidermal melanosis) and/or deposited in the dermis (dermal melanosis, melanophages).

With the Discoloration Treatment at Mermaid Beauty Center, our specialists effectively remove dead cells from the top layer of the skin while slowing down the skin’s melanin production naturally and safely for a beautiful even skin tone. Our series of treatments include a natural peel, laser treatments, and an LED lightening system, proven effective in clinical trials. With each application, your skin will transform completely becoming even and bright.

How Does Your Skin Get Its Color?

The best way to understand the way that skin discoloration occurs is to understand how the skin gets and maintains its color. The epidermis, the outer layer of your skin, contains a bunch of cells called melanocytes. These cells have many functions, but one of their main jobs is to protect the skin. When it comes to protecting the skin from the sun, the melanocytes do so by darkening it with a pigment called melanin.

Melanin is responsible for making the skin look darker when you are exposed to the sun, but the body, for some reason, will either stop producing melanin in specific areas of the skin, or put its production into overdrive. Sometimes the skin discoloration can affect the entire body, a specific part of the body, or it can occur in just a few random places on the skin.

What Causes Skin Discoloration?

There are many causes for this problem that can sometimes leave you feeling self conscious. Some reasons may be as uncomplicated as applying sun block unevenly, while other causes require medical treatment. Some of the main causes of skin discoloration include the following conditions:

Melasma- a skin discoloration that derives from the irregular production of progesterone and estrogen. The condition is most commonly found with pregnant women, as a result of hormone replacement therapy, or birth control pills.

Exposure to sun- as the skin ages, small, dark blotches called liver spots can emerge. The spots are not dangerous, and can usually be treated with a doctor’s care. Also, sun exposure can flare up already-existing issues with discoloration.

Vitiligo- a condition where the cells producing the skin-coloring pigment melanin stop functioning or die. It manifests itself by white patches that spread across the surface of the skin.
